Mrs. Clare Hoover has been principal and teacher of the Zanesville Adventist School since 1999. Prior to that, Mrs. Hoover taught at the elementary level in public school in England. Mrs. Hoover has a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree from the University of Lancaster, England and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Leeds, England. She holds a Professional Certificate with the North America Division. In addition, she is the Facebook page manager for both the school and church.
A native of England, Mrs. Hoover moved to the United States to teach students in a Christian atmosphere. She really appreciates the opportunity she has to work with a smaller group of children. She feels that she is able to meet students' individual needs far better than she was in a larger public school setting. She is very proud of the family atmosphere the school has and the relationships that have been built with many students and their families over the years. Mrs. Hoover loves to be creative, whether it is teaching art and music, directing the school's annual nativity play, setting up her classroom's dramatic play area, or sharing great books with her class.
When not in school, Mrs. Hoover loves to spend time with family and friends, going on walks, and petting and playing with her family's pet cats.
