School Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We greatly appreciate your willingness to get involved!

How can you help? Some ideas include:

  • Help organize, cater, or work at fundraising activities such as a bake sale or yard sale

  • Mentor or tutor students

  • Help chaperone/drive for field trips and other events that take place away from the school

  • Assist with a specific club or interest group

  • Sew costumes for the Christmas play or the dramatic play area in the lower grade classroom

  • Volunteer to speak in the classroom if you have a field of expertise that you'd like to share

Our school and the Ohio Conference of Seventh-day Adventists cares about the safety of our students, therefore every volunteer at Zanesville Adventist School is required to complete the Sterling Volunteers online training at https://www.ncsrisk.org/adventist/index.cfm?

The Sterling Volunteers course has two parts:

Part 1 - Raises the awareness of the mistreatment of the vulnerable.

Part 2 - Asks you questions so a background check can be run.

The course should take no longer than 45 minutes to an hour to complete. It does not have to be completed all in one sitting.

Once the online course has been completed, a certificate of completion is available to print. This certificate will need to be submitted to the school. This background check is good for three years.

If you do not have access to a computer or a printer, you may come into school and we can give you assistance.

In addition, each volunteer is required to fill out a School Volunteer/Driver Application Form if you plan to volunteer and/or drive students on field trips. This form needs to be completed each year.

If you have any questions or want to find out more about volunteering, please feel free to talk with the principal, Clare Hoover.
